“You are only free when you realize you belong no place — you belong every place — no place at all. The price is high. The reward is great.” - Maya Angelou

Throughout the years, it feels as if I've lived many different lives, having gone through the highest of highs down to the lowest of lows. From being hospitalized for a month due to a near death experience with pneumonia as a child.. To being hit by a car just shortly after that.. To recovering from multiple eating disorders as a teen into my twenties.. To having gone through major cardio-thoracic heart & lung surgery as an adult leaving me to rehabilitate my health with only one functioning lung and being incapable to even walk.. To having to kick an opiate addiction due to the chronic pain post surgery.. To having been victim of physical, mental, as well as sexual abuse.. To having to cope with an insane amount of deaths as well as suicides and suicide attempts within my own family as well as within my very close knit group of friends.. To living through just about every major skin disorder then teaching myself how to reverse them.. To figuring out a way to manage my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder as well as my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.. To trying about seven major different lifestyles and diets within a course of eight years.. To having to reverse my own diabetes within a course of a month.. To my father passing away and learning to cope.. To becoming an internationally published tattoo model.. To educating the masses on the Non GMO Verification Project, USDA Organic Practices, and Nutrition & Holistic Health as well as the importance of Self Care & Love for Oneself.. To teaching others how to raise one's worth all whilst not choosing to be the victim.. To finally becoming the survivor, saying fuck the rat race, dropping out of the typical "eat, sleep, work" regimented lifestyle to go on an adventure of a lifetime, to bicycle tour the world! Sometimes in life, you just have to say fuck it, and choose to live! I sure did and I haven’t looked back since!

With that said, I want to share a little poem I wrote as a reminder to love myself, fully and wholeheartedly, and to remember the importance of never giving up because truly, life is what you make it. Life is what you perceive it to be. Without love for oneself, you will never achieve true wholeness, true greatness!

Here it is:

Learn to love your demons. They are, after all, you. Pieces of you, no matter how much you'd like to detach, learn to love your demons. Learn to love yourself, all of you. The dark places too. The sick, the sad, and the sadistic little you. But don't forget about the bright and shiny parts too. The illuminating beautiful, luminescent you. Where the sun shines, making you anew. Where the darkness comes and hides because you're the real True Blue. Learn to love your demons. Learn to love yourself, all of you.
